Online friend room privacy
Jankobo is browser mahjong with no account and no login. A solo match runs entirely inside your browser, and the one place that needs a server is the online friend room. This page says what reaches that server and what it does not keep.
What reaches the server
When you enter an online friend room, your nickname and your connecting IP reach the server. The nickname is collected to show who you are to the three other players at the table: it appears on their screens as typed, and when the match ends it is kept as a name in those three players' saved replays. The connecting IP is used only as far as the browser and the server need it to talk to each other while the connection is open, and it is neither used for anything else nor kept.
What the server log does not keep
The server log keeps no room code, no nickname and no connecting IP. More precisely, this server writes no application log of its own at all.
Where the replays live
A replay, the record of a finished match, is stored only inside your own browser. The room record the server was holding is deleted 24 hours after the match ends.
No account, no login, no tracking
There is no account to register and no login. There is no tracking that follows you around and recognises you.
A room code is an invite link, not a secret. Anyone who knows the code can walk into that room, so share it only with the people you mean to play with.
Visit statistics
How often each screen is opened is counted by GoatCounter. It stays the same cookieless setup as before, and room codes and nicknames never go there either.
